Ticks |
| |
Fortunately for turtle keepers,
ticks are not very common in pet turtles. The
most common time that you would have to deal with
ticks is when bringing a turtle into captivity
from the wild. Turtles that are kept outdoors
are at a much greater risk of getting ticks than
turtles that are kept strictly indoors, but even
that does not happen very often.
If your turtle does in fact have ticks you will
need to take it to a veterinarian that can properly
remove them and give you a solution to bathe the
turtle in to eliminate the infestation.
