Lack of Appetite

There are a variety of reasons why a turtle would not eat. If the temperature and humidity levels are not right the turtle will have a hard time eating. The conditions in their habitat can also contribute to their stress level. If you have just made a significant change to their habitat or moved them recently it is not uncommon for them to refuse to eat for the first day or two.

Furthermore, it is important to provide your turtle with a variety of foods to eat as they can become bored easily. Be sure to read through your species care sheet to learn more about what types of foods they should be fed. Different turtles have different nutritional requirements.

If the turtles lack of appetite lasts for a long period of time it can lead to nurtitional deficiencies and other conditions which can have long-lasting effects on your turtles health.
